Missoula Children's Theatre

The Missoula Children’s Theatre annual one week Moscow residency is one of Festival Dance’s most popular and gratifying outreach programs for the youth of our community. With the support of wonderful community businesses we are able to bring this valuable project to our community each year. The benefits of Missoula Children’s Theatre are many:

  • 50 area youth chosen through open audition have the memorable experience of appearing on stage in an original musical production under the direction of professional actors. Area students, kindergarten through high school, have a wonderful time while learning theatre skills and gaining confidence and discipline.
  • 150 area youth attend free drama workshops taught in Moscow public schools by the Missoula Children’s Theatre actors
  • Over 400 people, including many children, attend the two performances of MCT’s delightful musical production featuring local performers with professional actors.

Every year, the Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is scheduled in the spring, bringing a production such as Jungle Book, Robinson Crusoe, Alice In Wonderland, or The Little Mermaid, that is sure to provide a great experience for the participating actors and audiences alike.

The cost of the project is $3,600, and we receive less than $2,000 from ticket sale income. In order to pay for this project while keeping ticket prices affordable, ($6 general and $4 students), we seek donations from community-minded businesses.

Festival Dance would like to request your sponsorship of $500 for this project, which would be acknowledged in our advertising ads and posters, in the program, and in announcements from the stage before each performance. Thank you for again considering this important assistance for the youth of our community.
